Worship services are not always the same as worship services at other institutions of faith. The traditional length of a religious service is usually from one to two hours, although many congregations have multiple daily services, such as Sunday morning, Monday afternoon and evening services. This is particularly the case with Roman Catholics, who have a morning service in the morning and an optional afternoon service for lunch. Unitarian ministers also have morning, afternoon and evening services. Some Methodists have a morning service, afternoon service or both. The most common type of worship service in the United States is Christian. The first Christian st petersburg church was established in New England, where its leaders were burned alive in the "burning-of-the-builders" trial. A Puritan minister, James Blunt preached against this action, and his sermon became the model for what would become the Ten Commandments. The remainder of the clergy were afraid of being thought of like the men who burnt them, so they changed the order of worship from morning to afternoon service. But Blunt's sermon became the norm for all churches and has now become a part of nearly every religion on earth. As far as the different types of worship services go, there are several main ones, including Christian, Jewish, Muslim and Hindu. Most Christians are familiar with the tradition of Christian theology, which is the study of God and the Bible. Other Christians are more interested in the teachings of Christ, while Muslims and Hindus focus more on the practices associated with their particular faith. Each has its own liturgy, but all share the common practices of praise, prayer, hymns, readings and dispensation of sacred fluids. The Old Testament passages that define worship services generally indicate that they are intended to be one-time occurrences. That is, God Almighty requires us to be alone in order to obtain His presence and look upon His glory. While that is still the most common way of looking at worship, the followers of Judaism, Islam, Christianity and Hinduism have developed new ways of viewing worship. Some are more active in their worship rituals, while others prefer a passive, yet still significant involvement. Some are similar to today's Christian hymns and songs, while others focus primarily on praise and divine activities. There are also some differences in the kinds of worship services that began as practices that occurred daily, weekly or even monthly in various parts of the world. In America, for example, the Advent Day service began shortly after the Resurrection and was celebrated every March. While Christians considered this day to be very important, many other groups considered it to be a waste of time and did not celebrate it. However, in many churches today, Sunday services have been modified to include holiday decorations and music, to mark important biblical events and to offer the chance for everyone to participate. Worldwide, there are increasing efforts by individuals and groups to move worship services from being solely within a fixed date and time, like Sunday morning, to being conducted on any designated day of the week. The "working week" has become the target for many who attend church in st petersburg on a regular basis. Others prefer to change the Sunday time for all worship services, so that all are able to participate on a given day of the week. It should be noted that while many churches and hymnographers have adapted ways of celebrating religious events and feasts around different workdays, there is a vast difference between seasonal and non-seasonal holidays and special observances. Some have even taken issue with people who would celebrate the day of a particular holiday in a different manner than it was originally intended, simply because of the fact that the original intent of keeping Sunday as the start of the week was changed.
